• Ohio Historical Society: A gateway to numerous sources of genealogical and historical information - especially useful for providing access to historical newspapers on microform.
   
• Ohio University Alden Library Archives & Special Collections: Source of some of the earliest vital records for historical residents of Perry County and southeast Ohio.

• Ancestry.com: Provides some online services for free but others require a paid subscription.  Useful information can be had without a subscription, though.
   
• FamilySearch: Created and maintained by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this site offers a vast array of genealogical information and research assistance.  One of the most useful sites on the Web.

The Perry County District Library system consists of six locations and is part of the Serving Every Ohioan (SEO) Library Consortium.  The administrative offices for the system are located at the New Lexington (Main) location.  See the links below for more information about the library and all of the services its friendly staff members provide.

TWEENs READ
This fun 45 minute program offers an opportunity for tweens to interact in a literacy-rich environment.  The program has a different theme each week and includes a cool craft & light refreshments! 

Library cards are free and can be obtained at any of PCDL's locations!  There are a few things that you will need to bring with you in order to obtain one, though.

Family Nights
Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m., New Lexington Library (unless otherwise noted)

Family night events are held each Tuesday evening in March, June, July, and October.  These programs are great for all ages and offer participants an opportunity to spend quality family time together in a fun, educational environment.  All family nights are open to the public and are free of charge.  For a description of upcoming programs visit the library events calendar.

As you and your child prepare for Kindergarten,  there are many resources available at the library and online to assist you in getting ready to take this big step.  These include:

With the exception of DVDs, there is no limit to the number of items that may be checked out at one time.  DVDs are limited to eight (8) per day per cardholder.  Materials can be returned to any PCDL location.
