During the world wars, the government promoted Victory Gardens to ensure an adequate food supply for both civilians and troops.  We will discover why Victory Gardens were important then and why Perry County residents should consider planting their own Victory Garden now.  Participants will also plant a few seeds to take home as a start to their Victory Garden

Just like Sir Isaac Newton (the father of modern rainbow science), Perry County youth (ages 9-12) will experiment with light to create our own rainbows.   At the end of our journey into spectroscopy (the study of rainbows), participants will make their own rainbow mobile with prisms to enjoy at home.

With the help of Hayley Harper from Perry Behavioral Health Choices, we will discover that mindfulness is a state of active, open attention to the present and how we can practice mindfulness in our every day life using the breathing beads we made at the beginning of the program.
