During Part 2 of this 2-part series, participants will be
introduced to the use of both 3D printers and 3D printing pens. Participants
will work with the 3D printed objects which they designed during Part 1 of this
series, adding color and style through the use of 3D printing pens and acrylic
paints. Participants will also work hands-on with 3D printing pens to craft
unique models in guided exercises. This one might be messy, so dress
accordingly!
Participation in Part 1 of the series is encouraged; basic printed models will be supplied for participants who were unable to attend Part 1 of the series.
Please note: If you
have more than one student in your family, please register each one
individually for each session. 3D printing pens and 3D printing filament
operate at high temperatures; while all reasonable safety precautions will be
taken by library staff and safety gear will be provided, participants are
advised to use caution while operating a 3D printing pen. Child-safe models
that operate at skin-safe temperatures will be available for younger
participants, but younger students (under the age of 12) must be accompanied by
an adult when using 3D pens during Part 2 of this program series.
